iAdvantage's High-Speed Commercial Broadband Infrastructure

Selected commercial buildings will be equipped
with the Net-Advantage broadband
network and received comprehensive office applications including web
meeting,
video conferencing, video broadcasting, and application sharing.
(HONG KONG - September 11, 2000) Unitech Networks,
a leading Internet Infrastructure solution provider in Asia Pacific, today
announced it has been selected by iAdvantage Ltd., a SUNeVision member
company and a leading Internet Infrastructure Provider (IIP), for a comprehensive,
creative and cost-effective networking system to support the rollout of
next-generation services, such as broadband Internet access and virtual
private networks (VPNs), enabling customers with an easy and reliable
platform to generate new revenue and increase their competitive edge.
The project named Net-Advantage is the first Hong Kong Internet Infrastructure
Network to offer up to 155Mbps truly non-blocking and bandwidth-manageable
broadband Internet access for each building with its structural and scalable
optical cabling network architecture, which is about 50 to 100 times faster
than most narrowband ISP's leased-line service. The project is geared
to commercial buildings, focusing to deliver the advanced, integrated
communications infrastructure for the emerging business requirements.

In the Net-Advantage project, Unitech Networks has been acting dynamically
to plan and construct a structured cabling system, keeping it easy for
service provisioning and future expansion, and free from network failures
due to wiring problems.

Teamed with Unitech Networks, iAdvantage is implementing a secure multi-service
business optical network for ten selected Hong Kong commercial buildings
in 2000. This intelligent network service arrangement, according to Mr
Li, has created a functional solution for customers to deploy high-speed
end-to-end fibre-optic broadband Internet services, voice/video/data integrated
services, VPNs, Application On Demand, and IT outsourcing services.
